king of the road.....
For months, we were told that this moment was approaching. At first a lot of people didn’t want to believe it, and those that were sounding the alarm were mocked. But now even the mainstream media is being forced to admit the truth. When the war with Iran began, the world was sitting on vast stockpiles of oil that we could chew through to keep the global economy operating normally. Unfortunately, those stockpiles have rapidly dissipated and the conflicts on the other side of the planet are intensifying. As a result, we now find ourselves in unprecedented territory.
Even The Mainstream Media Is Admitting That “The Great Fuel Crisis” Is Here BY MICHAEL SNYDER
The world is using a lot more oil than it is currently producing. So something has got to give. For over six months we have been running through our reserves, and at this stage the mainstream media is openly telling us that a tipping point has arrived. The following comes from a Wall Street Journal article entitled “Oil executives say the great fuel crisis is here”… American oil executives warned for months that the prolonged closure of the Strait of Hormuz was bound to cause a fuel crisis. Now, they say it is here. Commercial fuel stocks around the world have been depleting for more than six months, and strategic crude reserves can’t be tapped much further. Attacks last week shut down a crucial crude pipeline in Saudi Arabia that bypassed the Strait, stranding at least 2.5 million barrels a day from an already tight global oil market, analysts estimate. “All these mechanisms helped to mitigate the price and supply risk,” Chevron Chief Executive Mike Wirth said Friday at an energy conference in Austin, Texas. “Those have largely now played out, and we don’t have nearly the buffers in the system that we did when it began.” Those oil executives are right. It is here. Thanks to recent developments, energy industry insiders now fear that the conflict in the Middle East “risks spinning out of control”… Veteran energy advisers say that with no resolution to the Iran war in sight, the situation risks spinning out of control. Diesel prices have soared to a record $6.23 a gallon and gasoline prices, which slipped below $4 a gallon this summer, have rebounded to $4.32. Some energy analysts say they have been fielding investor questions about when consumers pinched by the high prices will start pulling back on new purchases. For months, we were told that a deal to end the war with Iran was imminent. That kept markets stable for a long time. But now reality is catching up with us in a major way. On Tuesday, average prices for both gas and diesel in the United States increased yet again… Just look at those numbers. A year ago, the average price for a gallon of diesel in the United States was just $3.68. Last month, it was sitting at $5.43. Now it is up to $6.26. Of course we should consider ourselves to be fortunate, because Europeans are paying between 9 and 11 dollars per gallon…
Unfortunately, this is just the beginning, because global oil supplies are about to get even tighter. It is becoming apparent that the damage to Saudi Arabia’s East-West pipeline is more extensive than we were originally told… Saudi Arabia’s oil problem just multiplied. What looked like a single Houthi hit on the East-West pipeline is now looking like a coordinated hammering of the whole system. Fresh satellite imagery shows Pump Station 9 badly damaged, with Pump Station 8 possibly hit too, both feeding the same artery that carries crude clear across the country to the Red Sea. Take out one pump station and you have a headache. Take out two on the same line and you have a pipeline that could sit largely dead for 3-5 weeks, maybe longer. Yes, the Saudis could feverishly work to repair the damage that has been done. But then the Houthis could just strike the exact same locations again. On Tuesday, the Houthis hit the Yanbu Aramco Sinopec Refining Company, and for now all activity at the Yanbu export terminal has been suspended… Oil loadings seemed to have stopped at Saudi Arabia’s main Red Sea port Tuesday as a major refinery there reportedly burned after an attack. Shipping industry sources told Reuters on Tuesday that loadings at the Yanbu export terminal had been suspended, four days after a drone attack shut the East-West Pipeline that feeds it, the outlet reported. Earlier Tuesday, an attack struck the Yanbu Aramco Sinopec Refining Company, known as YASREF, according to a post from the Hormuz Letter account on X. The post cited footage it said showed a fire at the site and NASA satellite heat detections inside the refinery. This is a major economic disaster for Saudi Arabia. And it is going to turn into a major economic disaster for Europe too, because the Saudis have reportedly told refiners in Europe that they will not be receiving the shipments that they were expecting… Europe’s energy supply outlook is deteriorating after Reuters reported Tuesday that Saudi Arabia had notified some European refiners that their September-loading crude cargoes would be canceled following the shutdown of its critical East-West pipeline after a drone attack. Beyond a diesel shortage in the West, Europeans are also dealing with low natural gas stockpiles heading into the Northern Hemisphere winter, with prices reaching their highest level since December 2022. What will Europe do? One source is claiming that there will be no more Saudi oil for Europe until at least November… Saudi Aramco has cancelled all of its September European crude oil allocations and is scrapping every cargo slated for late-September loading onward, with a European lifter saying no Saudi oil cargoes at all until November, per initial reports citing oil trading firm Onyx and market sources. That takes the world’s largest exporter out of the European market for the rest of September and all of October, a de facto force majeure on Saudi crude to Europe from the 3rd largest energy producer in the world. If you live in Europe, I would go fill up your vehicles immediately, because nothing quite like this has happened to Europe before. Meanwhile, the Ukrainians just hit another Russian refinery after President Trump specifically asked them not to do so… President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on X that Ukrainian forces struck the Syzran refinery in Russia’s Samara region, about 75 miles west of Samara and 466 miles southeast of Moscow. The strike comes days after President Trump urged Ukraine to halt attacks on Russian refineries, as average US retail diesel prices jumped above $6 a gallon and alarming disruptions to global refining capacity threaten fuel supplies ahead of the Northern Hemisphere winter. Needless to say, all of this bad news has pushed oil prices even higher… Crude oil prices rose Tuesday as traders awaited updates on how long Saudi Arabia’s critical East-West pipeline will be closed. Brent crude futures, the international benchmark, were up 2.6% to $108.48 per barrel by 11:06 a.m. ET. U.S. West Texas Intermediate traded 3.2% higher to $104.65. Prices have surged around 20% this month as fighting has sharply escalated in the Persian Gulf. The good news is that we still have oil left in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. The bad news is that the SPR has now fallen to the lowest level that we have seen since 1982… The U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve held 285.4 million barrels after inventories fell by about 1.2 million barrels in the latest week, according to Department of Energy data. The stockpile reached its lowest level since November 1982 as the government continued a planned release of crude oil from the emergency reserve. If we drain the salt caverns where that oil is stored too low, we risk causing permanent damage. There are some experts that are arguing that we have already crossed that threshold. And federal law places restrictions on non-emergency drawdowns once we get down to 252.4 million barrels. In other nations, there is simply no buffer left. The global economy really is facing a nightmare scenario, and investors are starting to get really nervous. On Tuesday, the yield on 10 year U.S. Treasuries hit the highest level in 19 years… The benchmark 10-year Treasury yield climbed to its highest levels in 19 years on Tuesday as oil prices surge from the Iran conflict and expectations grow that the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates on Wednesday. The rate milestone could ripple through the economy as the 10-year yield is a benchmark for consumers loans and corporate funding. The 10-year yield was last up more than 3 basis points to 4.996%. Earlier in the session, it scaled to 5.041%, the highest since July 2007. One basis point equals 0.01 percentage point, and yields and prices move in opposite directions. To me, it appears that extensive efforts are being made to defend the 5 percent level. If we ultimately reach 5.25 percent, that could be really bad news, because historically we have witnessed tremendous market disruptions once we cross that mark… Treasury yields are closing in on an inflection point where, historically, stocks and bonds have reinforced losses in one another. That points to a regime shift of higher bond and stock volatility and wider credit spreads. Lines in the sand are often a little too neat for reality, but when it comes to Treasuries there has been a stark change in regime when 10-year yields go much above 5.25%. After that point, the risks to bond volatility and hence stock vol and credit spreads markedly increase. With 10-year yields rising above 5% this week the first question is: will they keep going? Yields may look stretched, rising to levels not seen since 2007 just today, but Treasuries are not yet oversold. Incorporating returns on capital and looking at prices, they are only back to their long-term mean on an annual growth basis. We are dangerously close to the edge, and it won’t take much to set off a major financial meltdown. All over social media, people are talking about this now. They may not understand all of the specifics, but they can feel that something is coming. We live in such perilous times, and I have a feeling that a tremendous amount of insanity is just around the corner. https://activistpost.com/even-the-mainstream-media-is-admitting-that-the-great-fuel-crisis-is-here/

warming reporting....
Journalists need to report on who is causing the climate crisis, so that the EU public feels it can make a change
By Israel Butler
Public opinion polls show that a large majority of people in the EU are worried about climate change and want governments to address it. And science is crystal clear about the causes: climate change, which is supercharging extreme weather, is primarily caused by burning fossil fuels.
So why, in times of wildfires and deadly heatwaves, aren’t there overwhelming public protests and demands for governments to accelerate the shift from fossil fuels to solutions like renewable energy?
I’ve written previously about how activists themselves are partly responsible for scaring the public with fear-based messaging that pushes people outside their base into paralysis. But the greater problem lies with media outlets, which have far more influence over public thinking.
Media reporting shapes public opinion because it determines the way people understand the facts they receive. The academics who study this refer to ‘media framing effects’.
For example, does the media tend to talk about people who migrate as folks like us who come to build a better, safer life for their families or as threats to security, culture, and public services?
Even if journalists themselves aren’t purposefully characterising migrants negatively, when they neutrally and objectively report on the (predominantly negative) way political figures talk about the issue, this becomes the dominant frame the public relies on to understand what’s going on.
There’s ample evidence of how attitudes on migration are heavily influenced by the tenor of media coverage.
Another study shows the direct influence of the virulently anti-EU newspaper The Sun on support for Brexit. And multiple studies (on a Klu Klux Klan rally, Black Lives Matter protests, and environmental demonstrations) show a direct impact of the tenor of media coverage on attitudes towards protestors.
A recent analysis found that most UK media reports on the June 2026 heatwave failed to talk about global warming.
It’s probably the case that media outlets in most countries are not including an explanation for why extreme weather is happening, who is responsible, or how to solve it.
Reporting has tended to focus on naked facts (record temperatures, the size of fires, amount of damage, number of deaths), how we can adapt (go to the beach or get more AC), or asking scientists to explain the current weather pattern.
But rarely do reports look at the root causes: that oil, gas, and coal companies got us here, because it’s making them very rich and that they’re using their resources to sow confusion and lobby governments to delay the solutions we need.
As a result, even though the public is really worried about climate change and want action, they also think governments aren’t capable or interested. So why aren’t the masses kicking their governments into action?
Research by academics and campaigners and our own focus groups show that most people feel a sense of fatalism. That is, they feel powerless when faced with big society-scale problems.
Climate change is too big, scary, complicated, or difficult to solve. People look for ways to cope with that uncomfortable feeling. And, for most, that means finding ways to adapt personally (buy a fan) or just sticking their heads in the sand.
Overcoming fatalismThe good news is that there’s plenty of research and message testing by academics and practitioners to show that people can overcome this sense of fatalism if they have the right information.
This information includes: knowing who is responsible for the problem; seeing that the problem has been caused by decisions made by people and is therefore capable of being solved by people deciding to do things differently; and knowing that solutions are available.
This isn’t just about helping the audience rationally and consciously connect the dots. Giving the audience this information has an emotional impact.
It stimulates feelings of injustice and anger that provide the initial spark of motivation and then channels it into action by prompting a sense of hope and empowerment.
In my work I help campaigners incorporate this information in their messages. Campaign messaging includes other things that aren’t part of a journalists’ job.
These include reminding people of their values, giving them a call to action or pointing to times in the past when we achieved things that once seemed impossible, like creating a welfare state.
But giving the audience a frame to help them understand the causes and solutions behind the facts they’re reporting falls squarely within a journalist’s job.
This is not to say media outlets are on a mission to stymie efforts to tackle climate change, though some clearly are. But even well-intentioned journalists can end up contributing to the problem by reporting facts without giving their audience a way to interpret them.
Even if a journalist thinks they’re giving pure facts, this isn’t how our brains work. The audience interprets unframed facts according to the (often faulty) frames that are already in their heads (referred to as confirmation bias). Which means all facts are framed.
The choice journalists have is whether to provide accurate frames to help their audience interpret the facts or abdicate that responsibility to others who might not have the public’s best interests at heart.

GLOBAL WARMING IS BALONEYmacrondiesel....
Macron laments the EU’s nosedive like he’s not one of the pilots
After another climbdown to Washington, Macron is blaming everyone but himself as France’s economy, energy security and authority unravel
BY Rachel Marsden
So, big bad US President Donald Trump just successfully strong-armed French President Emmanuel Macron and the EU into dumping their precious ‘rainy day’ diesel from strategic reserves.
Why? Because Trump, threatening a disastrous cutoff of diesel exports to Europe altogether, wanted to keep domestic gas prices looking perky ahead of next month’s American midterms.
“We have decided to release strategic reserves of diesel and crude oil, under the coordination of the International Energy Agency – which will meet in the coming hours or days to organize this… This process will begin by prioritizing diesel,” Macron declared.
Wait, aren’t those the exact same strategic reserves that have given Brussels a collective nervous breakdown over imminent winter shortages? Oh well, what’s a leader to do when he’s just a helpless, innocent little cog in a grand G7 multilateral machine? It’s not like Macron is directly engineering this self-inflicted disaster in any sense, right?
Oh, hang on. He’s not done digging yet.
“In any case, France will make this effort regarding its own reserves, which also reflects a desire to send a clear signal to the market,” Macron added. Yeah, the signals are about as subtle as a flare gun to the face.
Visionary European leaders like Macron have long since handed the wheel to Washington because they apparently thought that it was a better look in the eyes of their Ukrainian girlfriend, Zelensky, than dealing with Russia and its cheap gas.
And now we get yet another Macronian capitulation to a more recent bogeymen that he’s been whining about on the global stage: Trump.
All this drama peaked amid a state visit to Madrid, where Macron dropped by a local university to jam out some avant-garde thoughts on Europe alongside prominent Spanish cultural figures. A local writer teed up a softball right across the center of the plate, invoking Trump and the global rise of populism in the same breath as fascism to frame them as an existential threat to democracy. Which, of course, was the ultimate cue for Macron to explain whose fault this mess actually is. And the short answer is: absolutely, unequivocally not his.
“The great blow for France was the 2008–2012 crisis. And who paid the bill? The middle classes. Even in countries that were less affected, some categories have still not fully recovered in terms of purchasing power and living standards they had before that crisis. And this has been a betrayal,” he said.
The same guy who’s been running the joint for nearly a full decade has to time-travel back 15 to 20 years to find someone responsible for the fact that French middle class is currently on economic life support. Because obviously, he couldn’t possibly have had anything to do with it despite holding the royal scepter for the past ten years.
He chalks up current reality to the 2010 European debt crisis as though he were just an innocent tourist snapping selfies outside the Elysee Palace rather than the captain of the ship.
“A key factor in European competitiveness was very cheap gas coming from Russia. That ended in 2022,” Macron pontificated. “But our great export market was China. That is over too. Europe now has a trade deficit with China. Today, every day, we lose €1 billion in trade with China.”
You’ve got to admire the poetry – if not the gall – of the passive tense there. It ended in 2022. Like a rainstorm! It just happened to end. Totally out of his hands. What can a mere mortal do? Same with selling things to China. Poof, it’s over now! Who knows why? A total mystery. Bleeding a billion euros a day while standing there and shrugging.
Never mind his other brilliant policy hits, like trying to flatline French nuclear power before panicking and awkwardly resurrecting it as the next greatest thing in green renewables, or selling off French industrial crown jewels to Americans only to proudly buy them back later at a massive taxpayer loss. Or riffing to the press on his private jet about how Europe shouldn’t be an American vassal – right before making French citizens and industry pay through the nose for the privilege of heating or cooling their homes as a result of doing precisely that.
It’s the exact same laissez-faire energy that he’s currently bringing to France’s annual far-left protest-and-smashfest season. This fall, the usual professional malcontents have managed to rope some high schoolers into doing their dirty work, meaning that we get to endure teenagers setting fire to their own academic institutions because they believe that their school days are too grueling – in a country where they enjoy a mandatory two-week vacation every six weeks of the academic calendar.
And the government’s cutting-edge counterinsurgency strategy to clear the streets is... online classes. Because the cure for revolutionary zeal is apparently to invite the sons and daughters of Che to hang out near the family fridge and the TV remote while mom and dad are out breaking their backs at work. Perhaps they figure that it’s more inviting than hanging out in the streets and chewing the scenery.
Every single year, the same script plays out, and the authorities just hunker down and wait it out. That appears to be Macron’s playbook for everything, even as he enjoys his 18% approval rating. Just wait for the fire to burn out, and then casually chalk it up to something entirely out of your control. He can’t even bother to unroll the hose at this point.
Looks like maybe the French will just have to wait out Macron himself, and for his term to end, before having a shot at anyone actually doing something useful to reverse course on any of this.

diesel deal....
US President Donald Trump says he reached an agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin during a phone call for Russia to supply diesel fuel to American and global markets.
Russia will deliver more than 300,000 tons immediately, followed by 500,000 tons in November and another 1 million tons shortly afterward, he wrote on Truth Social.
Trump also announced plans for an additional 3 million tons of Russian diesel, depending on the condition of Russia's refineries, claiming the agreement would help bring down fuel prices in the US and worldwide.
Following the announcement, the US Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced a temporary general license allowing Russian diesel supplies to global markets, effective immediately at Trump's direction.
Trump believes the deliveries would help bring down diesel prices in the US and worldwide amid rising fuel costs and disruptions to global energy markets.

WILL THE AUSSIE TRUCKERS THANK VLADIMIR PUTIN?....
not happy, don....
Ukraine's President Volodymr Zelensky has condemned Donald Trump's announcement of a deal to import Russian diesel into the US.
Zelensky called it a gift to Russian President Vladimir Putin that amounts to "an investment in a war that must be ended, not prolonged".
Trump said Putin had agreed to release 300,000 tonnes of diesel immediately "to the American and global marketplace" followed by 500,000 tonnes in November and another million after that.
It is understood the US Treasury is suspending sanctions on Russian diesel exports until 7 April as part of the deal, but other assets like those in American banks are still frozen.
In his Truth Social post, Trump added that a further three million tonnes of Russian diesel would be delivered "within a short period", dependent on the condition of its refineries, which have been attacked by Ukraine.
Putin later said Russia, which introduced a ban on diesel exports earlier this year, was willing to supply both the US and global markets with oil and petroleum products, but his statement did not specify amounts.
In a post on social media, Zelensky said Russia would repay the diesel with "further terror".
"We count on America's fair support for our defence of life, for our defence of people in Ukraine – and on the United States having a correspondingly strong conversation with Russia. A strong one, not a weak one," he wrote.
Analysts, however, have questioned whether Russia is capable of providing that quantity of diesel and the extent to which doing so will ease prices for American consumers.
Analysis: Trump's shock Russia deal highlights mounting pressure to curb fuel pricesTim Armitage, investment strategist at Quilter Cheviot, said the numbers mentioned by Trump were "relatively small".
He said the first tranche equated to approximately 2.25m barrels, and daily US consumption was around 3.8m barrels, "so it won't make a material difference to pump prices in the US".
"Granted, there are then two more releases to come, but it does appear to be a slightly desperate move by President Trump to try to lower inflation ahead of the midterms."
The BBC has asked the White House what Russia will get from the US in return for the commitment.
Meanwhile, the UK government spokesperson said its position "could not be clearer" and it would continue working with international partners to support Ukraine and bring about sustained peace.
"We will also maintain pressure on Russia through the toughest sanctions regime ever imposed by the UK, increasing the cost of Putin's aggression and supporting efforts to secure a just and lasting peace."

MEANWHILE:
Vladimir Zelensky’s continued attempts to target Moscow despite harsh retaliation against Ukraine’s military-related infrastructure prove that he doesn’t care about the well-being of his country’s people, Russia’s ambassador to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Dmitry Polyansky, has said.
Moscow Region came under a major aerial attack on Tuesday night, with Ukraine firing 650 drones towards the Russian capital, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said. Despite most of the UAVs being shot down by air defenses, the raid resulted in the death of two people. Another civilian was killed in a Ukrainian drone attack in the region on Thursday, according to Governor Andrey Vorobyev.
During his speech at an OSCE session in the Austrian capital, Vienna, on Thursday, Polyansky said that Zelensky “still harbors hopes of inflicting at least some noticeable damage on Moscow” in order to present this to the West as “proof that Ukraine is still capable of carrying out military operations that are painful” for Russia.
“At the same time, the head of the Kiev regime never tires of threatening Russia with escalation – something he is incapable of actually delivering – only to then complain about large-scale strikes by Russia,” he said, as cited by TASS.
Zelensky should remember the proverb that “people who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones,” the envoy noted.
According to Polyansky, Russian retaliatory strikes on facilities supporting Kiev’s war machine are “many times more powerful” than those attempted by Ukrainian forces. Because of those attacks, Ukraine is “losing the last remnants of its industry and infrastructure,” while also teetering on the brink of a “total energy and transport collapse” ahead of winter, he added.
Zelensky, however, “doesn’t give a damn about his citizens. His only concern is siphoning more money out of the country into the corruption system of his creation,” Polyansky said.
Ukraine has been rocked by a series of high-profile corruption scandals since last year, with the largest centering on a $100 million kickback scheme at state nuclear operator Energoatom, which was reportedly led by Timur Mindich, a former business partner of Zelensky. Other recent graft probes have targeted former Ukrainian ministers, prosecutors, diplomats, and senior officials.
In an interview with Reuters last week, Zelensky said he had ordered the Ukrainian military to double the number of attacks deep inside Russia, particularly against the country’s oil refining facilities.
The Russian Defense Ministry responded by announcing that “following Zelensky’s statement, the strikes... on military and military-industrial facilities… in Kiev and other regions of Ukraine will be intensified.” The ministry maintains that it never targets civilians.
